Annual Scholarships

Each year local businesses, friends, service organizations, and SCCC partners provide essential funds for student support through an annual scholarship. Students are awarded a minimum of $250 each year.

Scholarship applications open May 1, 2022. To qualify for “financial need” scholarships, students must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

All scholarship applicants must submit a letter of recommendation, which is done electronically within the application itself and a personal essay. We suggest an essay length between 250 and 500 words. Submit an essay using the following questions as a guide:

  • Please help us get to know you briefly. Tell us about yourself, your hopes and dreams, and how you became the person you are today.
  • Why do you feel you are deserving of this scholarship?
  • Why is a college education important to you?
  • What are your future college and career plans?

Please note: Some scholarships may require an additional essay; please check the individual scholarship criteria.
