Michael Sherman is a visual artist from Clifton, NJ, whose work masterfully blends elements of abstract and impressionism to create striking, emotive compositions. Michael Sherman’s work builds his compositions layer by layer in acrylic paint, alternating between thin, translucent washes and thick, textured applications. By incorporating generous amounts of gel and fluid mediums, he pushes the boundaries of traditional acrylic techniques, allowing light to pass through or become trapped within layers. This interplay of opacity and transparency allows him to create a sense of depth that extends beyond the surface, inviting the viewer to step into a space where realism and abstraction collide.
This exhibit will be on display until April 25, 2025.
